Question 1 : Earlier also my Son had high fever with 104 F temp but never had febril seizure. Was that due to any durg infection (as we gave him para the whole night and suddnely in the morning gave Meftal-P).
Answer 1 : There are lots of factors which determine febrile seizures other than the temperature. So please don't get confused. Even with Temperature, the Rate of increase of temperature is more important than the actual temperature at the time of seizure.

Question 2 : What could be the reason for sudden fever. Also note today morning we notice that a new teeth was comming. I am confused.
Answer 2 : It can be a simple viral fever. If the fever has settled by now, you need not worry. If the fever is continuing, you have to do some investigations

Question 3 : Also advise on how to proceed further to know more about by Son s seizure.
Answer 3 : Just give him Sponging with Ice Water and keep few cubes of Ice in his Axilla when he gets fever. Please don't hear to your parents of other seniors saying that Ice Water or Ice cubes will produce Cold. Seizures are more harmful than cold. You have to prevent them. So Always Ice Cold Water and Ice Cubes even when the temperature rises a bit

Most causes of Sleeplessness are due to wrong habits and the good news is that it is very very easy to cure them

1. You have to first have a natural circadian rhythm
a. Try to go to sleep and get up at the same time every day.
b. And Wake at the same time

2. Food
a. Dont take Coffee or Tea after 6 PM
b. Milk can be taken

3. Light
a. Cover the windows and doors with curtains and avoid light
b. Avoid watching TV lying in bed
c. Avoid Mobile Phones / Tablets

4. Exercise
a. Walk for 45 minutes after dinner
b. Take a bath after that

Looks like MR (Measles Rubella) vaccination coverage in Tamil Nadu is taking a hit because of the anti-vaxxers and Ill-founded, exaggerated propagation of the side effects of Vaccines. I got a couple of calls whether to vaccinate or not, from family. In this regard, I will try to allay the doubts, FAQs and rumors regarding Vaccines, which the anti-vaccine lobby is spreading in Tamil Nadu (TN)

1.Are Vaccines 100% protective?

No drug can offer 100% cure rate for all persons. Vaccines too have a protective range (Effectiveness), ranging from 85% upto 99%, implying the percentage of population protected among vaccinated, depending on the disease.

2.If Vaccines don't provide 100% protection to the vaccinated people, then how do you claim it eliminate diseases?

This is where the concept of 'Herd Immunity' comes into play. A group or community or particular geographical area cannot be vaccinated 100%,because of various reasons other than anti-vaxxers, like certain people are contraindicated or may be in the age group not fit for that vaccine. And it is also not necessary to have 100% coverage, because 'Herd Immunity' can prevent the spread of infections, by reducing the number of susceptible persons for its transmission chain to happen. Hence this protects the non-vaccinated individuals too. Herd immunity target varies from 85-95% based on the disease. The anti-vaxxers in our state who claim that their children are not vaccinated, but didn't contract any disease are the ones who are actually enjoying that because of this unique 'Herd Immunity' effect in vaccines.

3.So even if I don't vaccinate my child, other vaccinated children will protect my child?

No. Even for herd immunity to be achieved, 85-95% coverage must be there. Tamil Nadu's current vaccine coverage is only 87%. Also, if there is an outbreak or the disease is brought by some person from outside our place, the vaccinated children have the least chance <1% to develop the disease, whereas, the non-vaccinated children have 99% chance of developing the disease.

4.Are Vaccines 100% safe?

Technically, vaccines are 99.999% safe. This 0.001% is attributed to moderate, but temporary discomforts.

5.Are there side effects/adverse reactions with vaccinations?

No drug is without side effects. But vaccine associated side effects are very mild. Serious adverse reactions are rarest of rare (1 in 1 million cases), that we cannot even 100% associate with vaccine. We have to do cost-benefit analysis. Vaccines are million times preferred.

6.What are the side effects of Measles Rubella vaccines?

Fever, Rashes, temporary Stiffness of joints are the most common but mild reactions
Twitches in muscles if fainted, Temporary low platelet count are moderate but rare reactions
Severe reactions like anaphylaxis are rarest.

7.Why are they giving MR vaccines only in TN? Are they using our children as lab rats to test these vaccines?

Most evil rumor. MR vaccine is already being given by many developed countries like Japan, USA etc for decades. Now, India wants to bring it in our country. We should be happy about this development. Any project or programme, before implemented country wide, a piloting will be done in few states or districts, to study the feasibility and practical difficulties that arise, so that it can be rectified before implementing nation wide. In that aspect, this 1st phase of MR vaccine campaign is conducted in selected places. And No, this phase is not only conducted in TN, but also in 4 other states- Karnataka, Pudhucherry, Goa and Lakshwadeep

8. Why do they show some students fainting or vomiting after MR vaccinations now?

Simple- Nervousness. MR vaccine is an Injection. Children are usually anxious and nervous about injections and these days anti-vaccine propaganda has made even the parents and older children more nervous. Fainting after a pain stimulus (Injection) or stress (To vaccinate or not to vaccinate) is very common and not to worry about. 10-15 minutes of rest under medical supervision is enough, at the most. Vasovagal effect.

9. Do we have a mechanism to report and investigate the adverse effects, if happens, after vaccination?

Yes. Govt of India has a very good surveillance system- AEFI

10. Is MR vaccine associated with autism?

No, not even remotely. All the claims were proved false by many studies. Autism has no link with MR vaccine or thiomersal.

11. Do doctors vaccinate their family members?

Yes, We do. I advise all my cousins and friends to get their child vaccinated.

12. Then why do some people oppose it?

Fools and Idiots want attention. MMR vaccine is being given in private for cost since long time in TN. Now, govt wants to give it for free to poor and public. If at all, there is a conspiracy, then its a conspiracy against Poor people getting health benefits.

I hope my friends reading this, medicos and non-medicos, convey these clarifications among your friends, family and neighbors and thwart the anti-vaccine propaganda.

Following the initial claims in 1998, multiple large epidemiological studies were undertaken. Reviews of the evidence by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,[9] the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Institute of Medicine of the US National Academy of Sciences,[10] the UK National Health Service,[11] and the Cochrane Library[12] all found no link between the MMR vaccine and autism. While the Cochrane review expressed a need for improved design and reporting of safety outcomes in MMR vaccine studies, it concluded that the evidence of the safety and effectiveness of MMR in the prevention of diseases that still carry a heavy burden of morbidity and mortality justifies its global use, and that the lack of confidence in the vaccine has damaged public health.[12] A special court convened in the United States to review claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program rejected compensation claims from parents of autistic children.[13][14]

அமெரிக்காவில் ஒவ்வொரு மருத்துவ ஆலோசனையையும் ஒரு medical program ஆக்குவார்கள். அப்படி முக்கியமான நிகழ்வு இந்தப் பிள்ளைப் பேறு காலமும் கூட. இப்போது நம்மூரிலும் இந்த நாடகங்கள் அரங்கேறுகின்றன. அது கிடக்கட்டும். இன்றைய அமெரிக்காவில் நூறில் ஒரு குழந்தை ஆட்டிசம் பாதிப்பிற்கு ஆளாகியுள்ளது. ஒபாமா நிர்வாகத்தால் பெரும் பட்ஜெட் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சிறப்புப் பள்ளிகள் இல்லாத நகரங்களே கிடையாது என்கிறார்கள். மருத்துவம் செய்வது சாத்தியமில்லை. நூறில் இரண்டு என்பது விரைவில் வரும் என்கிறார்கள். என்ன நடக்கிறது என்று தெரியவில்லை. நமக்கு பாடம் எடுக்காமல், எளிதில் இதில் இருந்து விடுபடுவது எப்படி என்று யாரும் சொல்லமாட்டார்கள். ஆட்டிசம் நிச்சயமாக மரபு ரீதியாக வருவதில்லை. அப்படியானால் எங்கிருந்து?

The question is simple
Did he ask to avoid THIS vaccine

If your pediatrician has asked you not to give, then probably your child has some immune deficiency. So Follow your doctor's advice

Very simple

Just because your pediatrician has asked not to give vaccines to your child

Why should all parents of kids with normal immune system get doubt

You alone are confused boss
